Canning Vale sits on the sand plain and drills much as the northern corridor does. Moving east and south toward Armadale, clay appears in the profile more often, and clay is a different proposition from clean sand: it changes how the hole is developed and how the gravel pack behaves around the screen. It is still a plain job rather than a hills job, but it is the part of the plain where a quote is more likely to carry a depth range than a depth.

Blocks toward Armadale begin to pick up the topography that dominates further east. Where a block sits noticeably higher than its neighbours, the published Perth pattern of deeper bores at higher points starts to apply — which is the same reason a City Beach ridge bore can be six times the depth of a low-lying one.

The watering rules are the metropolitan ones: two rostered days a week by house number, before 9am or after 6pm, and no sprinklers from 1 June to 31 August.
